This is a little different from the way most other photography studios do it but I think there are a lot of advantages to this method... for both of us. The pricing is similar to the way that other professionals bill for their services and it allows me to concentrate on taking cool photos while saving you lots of money!
Most places charge a nominal fee to take the bare minimum of photos, then they keep the negatives and make their profits by selling packages and prints at many times the actual cost. By comparison, a commercial rate allows you to pay for exactly what you want and you own your negatives.
You pay only a $75.00 per hour fee for photographic services plus the cost of film and processing and once they're returned the photos and negatives are yours to keep. You have access to the same lab services I use myself or you're free to have your photos reprinted when and where you want.
The actual version that works best on a day-to-day basis...
You're charged for the time we spend taking photos, not running to the restroom or taking a break to give your two-year-old a snack. Usually this works out to about three quarters of the actual time you're here - no need to feel rushed.
The official version when someone is trying to take advantage of the setup...
Time is calculated in quarter hour increments and there is a two hour or $150.00 minimum. There is no charge for the initial consultation but if additional time is required for scouting a location, meeting with third parties and so forth, that time will be billed at one half the regular rate. Other expenses may include cost of a stylist or photo assistant, travel, and special needs such as props or backgrounds. All expenses are approved by you prior to your photo session.
The following prices may be helpful as guidelines:
Publicity Photos $75.00 + film costs
Commercial Head Shots $100.00 + film costs
Custom Portraits, Families & Children $100.00 - $200.00 + film costs
Personal Photos (sexy stuff & artsy-fartsy) $125.00 - $250.00 + film costs
Modeling Composites $250.00 (half day) & up + film costs
Reduced rates apply for longer photo sessions; $250.00 per half day & $500.00 per day. A 50% deposit is required to reserve the date of your photo session, and payment of the balance is due at that time. All work is guaranteed to your satisfaction!
